Bosnia – Trebinje
Departure is from Budva . Our journey takes us through Kotor, Perast and Risan to the border. We will be stopping to take pictures at a viewpoint from which we will get to see one of the most beautiful views of Boka Bay. We will then make our way towards the border and then to the town of Trebinje. Our first big stop will be at the monastery Gracanica of Hercegovina. This monestary's church is a replica of the monastery Gracanica which is in Kosovo and Metohija. The monastery Gracanica of Hercegovina was built in the year 2000. on the hill Crkvina, from where you can enjoy the view of Trebinje and its river Trebjesa (40min break). After our visit to the monastery Gracanica of Hercegovina, we continue our journey towards the monastery Tvrdos which was built in the 4th century and it is one of the oldest historical and cultural monuments of the country. Monastery Tvrdos is known for the fact that Saint Vasilije of Ostrog got ordained there and became a monk. Monastery Tvrdos has a long tradition of making wine from a unique wine sort local to the area. We will be visiting the whine cellar as well as the modern whinery. (40min break). After that we go to the town of Trebinje where you will have 2 hours to explore the town as you wish. We estimate the return time to be at 16:00.
